Advent of Peace

Children wait
Each thought a daydream
Vast riches in cardboard treasure chests
Hidden by elaborate paper
Beneath a twinkling pine

Humanity waits
Each heartbeat conflicted
A burning in the depth of the soul
Disguised by gluttonous pride
Beneath a whitewashed facade

Creation waits
Each moment a vision
A Child King in rock hewn palace
Concealed by modest cloth
Beneath a shimmering star

Expectation births hope
Hope bends to joy
As fantasy becomes reality
The world witnesses its salvation
Behold, the advent of peace
